changing colors

The older I get, the more I appreciate the beautiful colors of Fall. That is a fact.

When I was a teenager I would hear of Color Tours around Michigan. And they never interested me. Or my friends. And guess what? Most of the Tour Takers were senior citizens not teenagers. Bus loads of sweet senior citizens riding greyhound buses around woodsy areas in Michigan gazing out their windows at the blazing red and orange and yellow leaves during late October.
And while I'm not ready to get on the bus to ride around the state, I do notice, with more and more enthusiasm each year, the colorful leaves on the maples in our backyard. And when I point this out to my precious children, I get the same rolling eyes and disinterested expressions from them that I felt myself at their age.
I guess we don't take time to gaze at the colors (sort of like stopping to smell the roses I suppose) until we get a little older.
If you missed the changing colors of the tree in today's card, does that say that you are way too busy surfing blogs to pay attention to the details of each one?

I feel the same way about the leaves!! It is funny you mention about your children disinterested. Aubrey actually noticed the leaves changing before I did. Maybe you and her can plan a color tour of your own??? Love you!
