Today's card is the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:
Quite simple but fun. And I needed simple after the challenging day yesterday. Let me tell you, someone that is trying to kick a certain habit needs to pay attention to where they are at all times and not go into certain places. This advice would probably apply to any addiction and to any addict. And I freely admit I'm addicted to card making.
I've been quite well-behaved as of late regarding my pledge to not buy any new materials till I've used what I already own. I mean really well-behaved. I haven't even surfed my usual websites that would get me into the coveting mode. But yesterday was the ultimate test! I left for Grand Rapids intending to visit three of the most dangerous stores known to Stampers---Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and JoAnn. I even had coupons for all three of these stores!!! What was I doing to myself??? But I was good.
Actually, I didn't buy a single thing from the paper crafts/scrapbooking section. Can you believe it? (Sometimes when I say "a single thing" it is because I actually bought multiple things and am trying to lie. But not so this time....I really didn't buy anything)
Before I hurt myself patting my own back, I do have to admit that I was looking for a certain product and because I couldn't find it, I just wasn't interested in anything else.
I have a few acrylic stamps and I don't enjoy using them with my Stampin Up ink pads. Someone told me that ColorBox Chalk inks work best with clear stamps so I was looking for this:
A few of these in different colors. But I couldn't find any I liked. Even though I struggled when I saw some really cute Christmas stamps, I remembered my vow to use what I had. It helped that I let you know about my vow. You'll keep me accountable. I think though, I really shouldn't visit those stores (when I have 40% off coupons no less!) for a while. A girl can only be so strong.
Before I go, here is a cute little jar I'm going to fill with some Thanksgiving treats. I used all sorts of Stampin Up punches to make the turkey.
And the answer to yesterday's quiz---A. Muirfield is a golf course in Scotland! Yeah! You were right!

Jen, Wow you did good. I went to Michaels yesterday and I bought things. I had to get a new punch from Martha Steward that does a border with stars, just had to have it. I like your card, I really like the green polka dot flowers. I bought some flowers at Hobby lobby yesterday but I have to look and see I bought any green ones. Jean
Jen, where did you find the pattern for the turkey? Jean
Jen- The embossed paper that you used for the card, did it come that way and you just cut it or is there some other trick?
Lovely card! That great big flower is luscious! Your story about not buying a "single" thing made me smile. I prefer VersaMagic Chalk inks over the Colorbox ones. In my opinion, the Colorbox ones stain the stamps way more. I have a red strawberry stamp that you can't even see through the stamp anymore to prove it. :)
Beautiful card -- love that cupcake stamp - so cute!
The flower is stunning on the card! ;)
