Remember me?? I am the self proclaimed Most Unoriginal Crafter Ever? About 99% of my projects and cards are inspired by others' work. I surf through many blogs every day and participate in lots of sketch challenges because I have very little creative juice flowing through my veins. But that is ok because if everyone in the world could create unique-never-before-seen projects there would be mass confusion and chaos. The world would fall apart. I'm convinced of that. So, to prevent this mass confusion, I copy. I shamelessly copy and once in a while, I go out side my box and put my own spin on a project (mostly because I don't have the same exact colors or materials to copy something exactly). Really, this isn't a bad thing. Someone has to be a follower and not a leader, right?
So for today's project, I want to show you a neat little accordion file card holder I made. I purchased an accordion file from Hobby Lobby that was made of plastic, had a Velcro flap, and was the most boring thing you've ever seen. It made you cry because it was so boring. It was more for coupons than for cards. But it inspired me.
I wanted to make a card holder that my stampers could re-create to hold their cards they have made at class.
Without taking it apart, I figured out how to make one using cardstock, tabs, jumbo eyelets and some ribbon.
Let me set the record straight....copying is not always EASY. This card holder took me quite some time. It was hard work. But I loved it! And I'm quite pleased with my little accordion file card holder.
I'm still up in the air about having my ladies do this project in class. It could easily cause some frustration because you really need 12 fingers to complete this and most people only have 10. Once you adhere one side down, it is a little bit tricky to get the other side down evenly.
But either way, I encourage you today, copy something you have around the house. See what you can come up with. Re-create the wheel or something.
On a side note, there is a stamp company I recently found out about called River City Rubber Works. It is an awesome company because their stamps are so stinkin' hilarious! They are having a sale this weekend (ends today) which includes FREE shipping on orders of $14.92 or more (1492 in honor of Christopher Columbus day). I ordered a stamp that says " This Better Not Go In The Trash". Just something cute to put on the back of cards or anything I make. If you have any time at all today, you gotta browse their selection, especially their selection of comical stamps. You'll fall off your chair laughing at some of them.
By the way, I'm not affiliated with this company at all and will not benefit from any of your purchases you may make. I just want to share it with you because the sayings are so funny and life is too short to be serious all the time.

CUTE FILE! I'd say that technically you didn't copy this one. There is so much more to yours than to the original. Anyway, Maybe you could offer it to your ladies but explain the complications of making one and let them decide if they want to pursue it or not. I bet at least some will be up for the challenge. Or, you could offer just that as a class and and describe it as for "the advanced stamper"......come with extra fingers :) Just a thought.
I find the valuable information is provided by you.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
