Monday

Today's card isn't so much about the colors (pumpkin pie, real red, old olive) nor is it about the layout (Beate's weekend sketch). It is about the frosting on the cupcakes! It looks so yummy I could almost eat it for breakfast this morning!

It is a cool embellishment that has been around for quite some time but always fun to play with. It is called Liquid Applique (one of those fun words to say out loud. Did you try it?).
With a little pressure to the bottle, the applique comes out like Elmer's Glue. Apply heat, with a heat gun, and as it dries, it explodes (not literally an explosion....just a little bit of silent poofing) and turns into a foamy soft texture. It also works great as snow on a winter card.
Tonight is my Scrapbook class. We'll be making 20 pages in under an hour! It will be a lot of fun. Especially since I did some quick grocery shopping this morning and Halloween candy was on sale! I stocked up on lots of chocolate (my favorite kind--sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't). Chocolate and papercrafting go great together. Can't wait.

By the way, here is the original sketch:

Jennifer, that is adorable. Love the striped cupcake bottom and the fluffy top.
Thanks so much for playing!

Jen, I really like that card. You will have to show us how to do that in class. Jean
