My oldest child, my daughter, will be going to a new school next week. She'll be transferring as a freshman from our small private christian school to the much bigger public school. She'll no longer wear a uniform or have limited choices for electives. A whole new world will be opening up to her. Along with the excitement of a new school will come insecurities. New faces, new social customs, new peer pressures, and a whole lot of decisions to make.
I'm hoping she can just be herself and let them all see her how she is. Caring and compassionate, lovely and poised. Funny and witty.
This card is for her.
I used the Just B set from Stampin Up and followed the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge from the Poetic Artistry website. I love these sketches! I hope to win someday because she gives great prizes!
This was the sketch:
ingredients for my card are:
paper: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Whisper White, Rainbow Sherbet DP
ink: Tempting Turquoise
accessories: Apricot Appeal ribbon, circle and scalloped circle nestabilities, silver brads, Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, new large oval punch from Stampin Up, white flower from the Pretties Kit dyed Apricot Appeal

Darling card. Love the sentiment. Thanks for playing! :)
I love the card, Jen, but even more the thoughts of a mother's heart as she lets her child grow up just a little more. Hallie will be starting kindergarten this fall and will be going to a charter school that sounds quite a bit like what you described your christian school to be. Even with structure of the school I am still anxious about her going. She went to pre-school last year, but somehow the thought of school school is big to me. We want them to grow up, but it is hard too.
Fantastic -- LOVE how you did the B -- so cute -- the colors are so very pretty! :)
