When half equals MORE

Today is the first day of school for two of my four children. The youngest and the oldest are enjoying an extra day at home until their school starts. Did you know that having half the kids gone means half the noise? And half the number of interruptions? And, of course, half the noise and half the number of interruptions equals more productive stamping time for the mom!

Having said that, I also have to say that I miss them terribly and can't wait to see them this afternoon. But I was able to finish TWO sketches this morning. I'll show you the second one tomorrow but here is the first challenge:

I don't really like the button on the side of the sentiment because I'm not really a button person. And it was very hard to put thread into the button to make it look like it was sewn on. Mostly because I rarely sew buttons on in real life! But if you look closely, you may be able to see that I stitched around the two panels of DP with my Janome Mini Sewing Machine! Now THAT kind of sewing is fun!

I inked the central flower stamp in So Saffron and then used a sponge dauber to apply Tango Tangerine to the edge of the rubber.

ingredients:
paper-Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Tango Tangerine, Sweet Always DP
stamps-Fabulous Flowers
ink-Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Tango Tangerine
accessories- Earth Elements buttons (retired), Janome mini, ticket punch

Jen - you did a great job on the button! I really like these colors together. Is the flowered background a stamp or a wheel?
